A Case Study of Floor Time based Play Therapy for Child with Ectodermal Dysprasia and Autism Spectrum Di

Abstract
This paper is based on a case study of a six years ten months boy who showed ectodermal dysprasia and autism spectrum disorder and had difficulty adapting to his preschool. His problems were attributed to lack of social skills and poor emotional regulation. DIRFloorTime¢ç based play therapy was conducted for 15 sessions based on the theory of Developmental, Individual Difference, Relationship based Model. The DIRFloorTime¢ç based play therapy aimed to: (1) help
him to obtain social skills and emotional regulation to escape from the fear and anxiety about the social interaction from preschool and maintain stable emotional state in everyday life. (2) help him to appears symbolic play and promote verbal two way communication. After the sessions: (1) he became possible friends and teacher with social and emotional two way verbal communication in preschool; (2) his emotionally withdrawn in everyday life decreased; (3) he experienced
competence and his self-esteem began to increased; (4) It was reported to start the play about his interesting play theme; (5) The participation of child was also increasing through active effort of parents. These findings are meaningful in that they verified the effectiveness of Floor time based play therapy and active parenting support for child with ectodermal dysprasia with autism spectrum disorder who had developed social skills and emotional regulation based two way
communication.
